How AI Prompts Simplify Product Analysis for UX Designers.

As a UX Designer, analysis is a crucial step in designing any product. I recently undertook a competitive analysis of two online tutoring services: UrbanPro and Preply. Throughout this process, I utilized various software tools to aid me in creating the analysis. Now, I’ll walk you through how ChatGPT can assist me, step by step.

I have already completed a competitive analysis between two products, so I’m clear on who my competitors are. If you’re unsure about who your competitors are, you need to first identify them. Your prompt could be something like this:

“I want to plan an online job portal specifically for the Indian education sector. Can you help me identify the main competitors, both global and local, that operate in India?”

Now that I have got my list of competitors from the previous prompt, it’s time to dive in and see what they offer. In this scenario, my next step might be to look at the features available from these competitors. So the prompt could look something like this:

“Please compile a table outlining the main features, services, offers, and pricing from competitors in the market.”

Now that we’ve looked at the features, it’s time to turn our attention to the users. In this phase, the prompt might look something like this:

“Please check what our competitors are doing on their websites. Put together a table describing who their main users are and what type of users — including their age, gender, job, and any other relevant details.”

That’s it! I have applied this prompt to collect data for my project portfolio. But one thing: I am also collecting data from another source. If you’re planning any design, consider using AI for assistance. AI can be incredibly helpful in various aspects of design.
