Problem-solving is not a skill, it’s a mindset

In today's digital age, web designers are constantly seeking ways to create visually appealing and engaging websites. One powerful tool in their arsenal is color psychology, which plays a crucial role in influencing user behavior and perception.

Back in 2019, I was at an interview with a well-known company. During the conversation, the interviewer asked, “You’ve mentioned problem-solving skills in your CV. Do you know what that means?” I quickly answered, “Yes,” and began explaining: “When a project starts, my manager or client tells me what needs to be done, and I complete it on time. That’s problem-solving to me.” At that time, I think that.

Since that day, I’ve grown. I faced many challenges when I joined my current company and took full ownership of a product. So, I focused on learning — reading books, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and taking courses. That’s when I learned that problem-solving isn’t a checklist — it’s a way of thinking.

When your mindset is positive, curious, open, and focused on impact, you automatically start finding problems and solutions in a creative way. You begin to notice what others miss — why users are frustrated, and how you can do it better.

I’ll share one example. I was traveling in an auto in Gaya and opened Google Maps to check the route. But the driver took a different path.

I told him, “Bhaiya, yeh to sahi rasta nahi lag raha.”
driver replied, “Google waala road bahut kharab hai, usko dekhna chhod dijiye.”

That moment made me think. Inspired by these real-world situations, I later designed VAYA — a product focused on solving location-based challenges.

Once you develop real problem-solving skills, you naturally start asking, “What problem is this product solving?” instead of just focusing on designing everything.

When you start solving real problems, your mind pushes you to take action, share your ideas, and get feedback with purpose.

This is my view about problem-solving skills, but I know it may not be perfect. If you have any thoughts or feedback, please share with me.

Thanks for reading and supporting.
