First of all, I’m a UX designer, not an SEO expert.

If I told you to learn the basics of SEO, you might push back. You might think, “Why should a UX designer worry about SEO? Isn’t that for content writers or marketers? I used to think that way too.

But everything changed when I started working on a real SaaS product called “Jobsineducation.” And today, I want to share that experience with you.

If you are designing a product, especially in SaaS, SEO & UX are deeply connected.

Think of SEO as how people discover your product on Google, and UX as how they experience it. But one thing: SEO only works on public-facing pages, like landing pages and category pages, which means that once a user logs in, SEO is no longer active.

During the JobsInEducation project, I closely collaborated with the SEO Manager to align our design strategy with real search data. We actively used tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics to understand:

What users were searching for on Google? How they were interacting with our site? Where they were dropping off? How much our site loading time?

We discovered that users were typing in keywords like:

“teacher jobs near me”, “B.Ed jobs”, “teaching jobs near Bangalore”

Also, we found that many users didn’t complete their job applications because our original information architecture was unclear or confusing.

So, based on our analysis, we improved both usability and search visibility together.
